Verge interviews Gogoro designer. Not just a scooter company, they are trying to change the way people use energy in Asia.

Launched in Taipei 24/7/15. $4000 USD with free battery swap and recharge for 2 years. Compared to ~$2500 for similar quality gas scooter. Gogoro owns all the batteries and consumers only rent them. This was the only way to get around energy regulations in Taiwan. Downside is consumers can’t charge at home or work, only swap batteries at charging stations.
